Sade Mangiaracina is one of the brightest new talents in Italian jazz thanks to her rare sensitivity and remarkable qualities as a composer and arranger. Born in Castelvetrano, Sicily, she moved to Rome to study jazz at the Percentomusica school conducted by Massimo Moriconi where he graduated in 2007 with top honors, subsequently continuing his jazz studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory with maestro Danilo Rea.
“Prayers” is the artist’s third record, which he presents live on tour in a trio with Marco Bardoscia on double bass and Gianluca Brugnano on drums. An ideal lineup of Sade’s music capable of bringing out the leader’s Mediterranean origins always filtered through the lens of improvised music and an interplay of confirmed surprising maturity.
The group, already selected by the Nuova Generazione Jazz 2021 project for the promotion of the new Italian jazz scene, has been winning over audiences and critics for some time now for the depth of research and the perfect stylistic balance brought to bear.
