Joel Ross, “Parables”
In recent years, Joel Ross has honed an expressiveness true to his sound and generation. In 2019, the vibraphonist-composer released his long-awaited debut album on Blue Note, “Kingmaker,” to resounding critical acclaim. He was voted best vibraphonist in the “Rising Star” category of DownBeat magazine’s critics’ referendum. With the release of “Who Are You?” in 2020, Ross documented a year of the highest level of musical research and experimentation.

James Brandon Lewis, saxophonist and composer, is considered among the most creative young talents in African American jazz. Born in Buffalo, New York, in 1983, Lewis achieved a solid artistic maturity by studying all phases of contemporary American music, from gospel to fusion, rap to free jazz.
