Bill Frisell follows up his acclaimed 2020 trio album “Valentine” with the release of “Four,” an extraordinary 13-song reflection on loss, renewal and friendships. The guitarist and composer’s third album for Blue Note since signing with the label in 2019 offers new interpretations of previously recorded originals and nine new songs. The session brings together a new lineup of musician friends, independent spirits and kindred minds: fellow Blue Note stablemates Gerald Clayton on piano and Johnathan Blake on drums and longtime collaborator Greg Tardy on saxophone and clarinets.

The record “Four” was voted best record of the year by the Italian magazine “Musica Jazz” and many international trade magazines.
